Behind the scenes
How we build an AI lesson so beginners can follow it
Margaret Ellison
A look at how I plan, test and revise the AI Tools for Everyday Life lessons, from the first rough exercise to the version learners finally see.
Starting from a real question, not a feature
Testing every exercise the slow way
Writing the wrong answers on purpose
Pacing the screen so nobody is left behind
What changes after learners try it
What I keep out of the lessons
Behind each AI lesson is a lot of quiet repetition: a question from a real learner, an exercise tested on different days, a collection of wrong answers and a willingness to rewrite. None of it is glamorous, but it is what lets a beginner sit down, try something new and feel that the screen is on their side. That is the standard I hold every lesson to.
